Paul Giamatti was robbed. No Oscar nomination for him? The film hinged on his acting. Wonderful, nuanced performance.

SCTV Vol. 2
I'm hooked, and I plan to get every volume they put out. It takes me back to when I was in 7th grade watching SCTV reruns on public TV. The Godfather and CCCP-1 both stand the test of time after almost 25 years.
Television
(The all-hating-on-Tucker Carlson special edition)
Countdown with
Keith Olbermann
The only smart show on MSNBC. I can imagine the legion of channel-flips when Tucker Carlson follows Countdown.
The Daily Show with
Jon Stewart
Deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for deep-sixing Crossfire... while appearing on Crossfire. Alas, America's still hurting - which means Jon's job is safe.

Jim Rome
XM Satellite Radio
I love the comedy channels. XM was a wonderful thing to have on my recent road trip.

Someone who knows me must have created this editorial from today's Onion.

So this morning I run to Safeway to pick up a couple of blank video tapes – an emergency purchase for my habitual daily taping of, yes, The Joker's Wild. The clerk asks me if I want to donate a buck to prostate cancer research. I say yes. I'm handed a piece of paper:

This donation made in honor of: __________

I figure it's kind of stupid to make it in honor of myself, so I try to think fast of who will be honored by my 100-cent act of philanthropy. And so in a rare moment of inspiration, I fill in the blank with:

Frank Zappa

The clerk takes the slip of paper, then says "Thanks, Mr. Zappa." She catches herself and chuckles, the you're-a-smart-ass chuckle. She didn't know FZ died of prostate cancer, so I told her. Nice to impart trivial knowledge to other folks.
